Meet the TRIMUI Smart — the newest retro console on the block that's the size of a credit card!
TRIMUI have been around for a bit, but consoles from them don’t get nearly as much attention as those from the likes of Miyoo or Anbernic.
The newest from the TRIMUI camps is the TRIMUI Smart, which — with no exaggeration — is a credit card-sized retro console. This is taking gaming on the go to a whole new level!

With dimensions of 110mm x 58mm x 15mm, the TRIMUI Smart is really eyeing pockets — and the really small ones at that.
Let’s take a look at what is on offer here!
TRIMUI Smart Specifications
Given the size of this little, you cannot expect too much from it. Here are the full specifications of the TRIMUI Smart:
- Display: 2.4-inch IPS, 240×320 IPS LCD
- OS: Linux
- Processor: 1.5GHz AllWinner S3
- Storage: 8GB built in, with microSD expansion
- RAM: 128MB LPDDR3
- Battery: 1000mAh
- Speaker: 0.5W
- Network: 2.4GHz WiFi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C
- Dimensions: 110mm × 58mm × 15mm
- Weight: 100g

While the 1000mAh battery might seem a bit teeny, TRIMUI claim that the device will last up to 3.5 hours on a single charge.
What is also notable is that TRIMUI seem to take software a tad more seriously than other manufacturers on the scene. Which is why, the TRIMUI Smart will feature the ability to get OTA (over the air) software updates.
What is also promising is the fact that TRIMUI will ship this tiny unit with an ‘app store’ of their own, which means there might be a possibility of seeing more applications should the Smart get enough adoption.
What can the TRIMUI Smart emulate?
As evident, the TRIMUI Smart is not made for heavy duty gaming on the go. You can expect it to emulate lightweight systems of the past.
There shouldn’t be problems emulating platforms such as GameBoy, GBA, GBC, NES, SNES and the likes.
But to expect it to run anything more recent than that might be a bit unreasonable, methinks.
TRIMUI Smart: Availability and Price

The TRIMUI Smart is available in four colors, namely White, Blue, Yellow and Purple. It is priced at just shy of $100 at $98.9, and is available to purchase over at AliExpress.
More retailers should soon be offering this device. KeepRetro, for instance, have it on pre-order with shipping scheduled to commence by end of September 2022.
Verdict
Here’s what YouTuber Taki Udon has to say about the TRIMUI Smart:
At that price, it’s definitely not going to be an impulse buy. There’s hoards of other retro consoles under $100 that are sitting commanding attention.
The Miyoo Mini seems to still be the best sub-$100 handheld at this point! What is your take?
